Competing
in an industry where lower wage rates were applicable in
"growth areas" and "Bantustans" promoted by the state in
the era of grand apartheid. ZENZELENI's conditions of employment,
includes wages and hours of work were in line with UNION
objectives, despite the unfair advantage of state aided
incentives granted to the competition. Costing and fee structure
were minimized so that financial survival was imperative.
